| In Part 1 of this article, I explored dating from a single’s perspective. In Part 2, I’ll delve into the minds of married couples for their input on this subject. As far as married couples go, Rebecca hit the proverbial nail on the head. She said, “An integral part of a successful marriage is your faith. Believing in God, amplifies your faith an infinite number of times. Faith that the almighty can take care of the problems life throws at you makes all the difference in your attitude about life.” |

Chances are that you’ve probably been hearing more about mission trip opportunities since the start of the year. Maybe your church is sending a team to Kenya or helping with the ongoing recovery efforts from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Perhaps, your Pastor has been encouraging you to step outside of your comfort zone this year and to do your part to help participate in fulfilling The Great Commission. How do we as Christian singles navigate through the torrid waters of the “Dating Pool”? I for one, would like to know, wouldn’t you? We are all looking for an “Atlantis”. We are looking for a place where our questions can be answered, a place where we walk out wealthy in the knowledge of how to navigate the waters. In order to answer these and other questions, we as Christian singles must first figure out what we are looking for. |

When I was 17, the Los Angeles Times printed a front page news article entitled: “Strength in the Face of Adversity.” That article explored how I managed to overcome a nightmarish childhood and still made it into the prestigious school, U.C. Berkeley. During my time at Berkeley, I worked hard to maintain a 4.3 GPA while managing a busy schedule combining several jobs and a long list of extracurricular activities including Editor in Chief and President of the honors society. I won’t go into the details but, suffice it to say, the LA Times found it newsworthy that I had accomplished such accolades because my life had really been that bad.

My devotion to the Word of God began shortly after my teenage years. My Mother and Father were very faithful in His word and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Earlier in life I always knew and felt the presence of God but, I was often naive about how he helped me through all those years. Shortly after I arrived in Atlanta, I met many young men and women who were really walking in faith. It was something I wasn’t used to but, I soon invited these friends in my life with open arms.
