It’s been a frustrating day. My job revolves around being on the Internet. Today however, the internet service in my small town has been down almost all day. It’s disrupted my routine, irritated me and caused me to get behind on some of my assigned work. At first I was concerned that maybe my connection was interrupted because of a loose wire, but after checking to be sure everything was hooked up properly and making a quick call to my internet provider, I was informed the problem was on their end.
A Time to Live
By Bob Kaku
During the waning days of World War II, there lived a young girl in Kokura, a city on the island of Kyushu in southwestern Japan. B-29s rumbled overhead, dropping bombs in her neighborhood. In one particular raid, explosives ripped holes into the street right in front of her house. Little did she know that Kokura was singled out for an even more horrific weapon. It was the primary target for the world’s second atomic bomb because of a large ammunition arsenal located there.
“Makeover”
By Ronnie Wyatt
A middle aged woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. While on the operating table she had a near death experience. Seeing God she asked "Is my time up?” God said, "No, you have another 43 years, 2 months and 8 days to live."
Hoot Owls and Freebies!
Usually I start my day sitting in my sunroom early in the morning, curled up in my recliner with my coffee and watching the birds, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits and whatever else may come by! There is a hoot owl that comes every spring, and, throughout the summer his “hoot” greets me in the morning and evening. The soft tones of his voice drift through the early morning breezes as if to say "good morning" and again in the evening, the old fellow's voice drapes the dusk of night and says, "Sleep well." It is such a peaceful sound.

I don’t like change, and I don’t like surprises. I want everything done decently and in order. Predictability is just below godliness on my list. The problem is, I live in a very unpredictable world—, and so do you. From the time I was a young girl, however, I knew things weren’t as they should be. Inequity surrounded me, but I felt impotent to do anything about it. As a result, when I hit my teens, I became a champion of causes, defending the underdog at every opportunity and jumping on every soapbox that demanded justice for someone. None of it did much good, though. You see, I recognized the problem but I didn’t know the Problem-Solver. I saw the injustice but had no relationship with the righteous Judge. I longed for people to be treated fairly and equally but erroneously believed that unfair and unequal human beings could dispense such treatment.
