As I was cleaning my desk, in hopes of wasting all my time instead of writing, I ran across some wedding invitations from this past year. It reminds me of my wedding, a simple affair in the scheme of things, no more than fifty people at the ceremony with finger food right afterwards so that we could mingle and talk. There was no receiving line, no formal dance, just us visiting with friends.

Simplicity

Every year we seem to have the same thing happen; too much stuff, too little space. It wasn’t so bad when we had six addresses in four years, we were always moving and evaluating and getting rid of whatever didn’t fit in a box, or in the truck we rented. I was always amazed at the fact that no matter how long we lived somewhere there were at least six large garbage bags of stuff that was being thrown away.

A Messy Summer Meal

My friend Cindy Cashman is releasing the 20th anniversary issue of “Everything Men Know About Women” (written under the pseudonym Dr. Alan Francis). Now this is a great story – 20 years ago she released this “book” to rave reviews. I must warn you that it is 128 blank pages – thus the title. She sold over 1 million copies herself. People bought them by the case load to give away to friends. Cindy is not a great writer or even a good reader. Becoming the most successful self-published woman in America is not something her guidance counselor would have recommended.
