Decisions, Decisions
What should I fix for supper? Where should I shop for new shoes? Who should I ask to help me with that project? When should I take vacation this year? Do any of you wish for a decision-free day? Just one! Then you wouldn't have this conversation:

We discovered a great new free computer program to retrieve data that was deleted by mistake. It's almost like the "easy" button that one office supply store sells, only it is the "undo" button. This program allowed me to retrieve some precious photos that were deleted by mistake when my computer hard drive died. I thought these photos were gone forever, so you can imagine my joy when they returned to my computer screen, good as new. I'm grateful for that program, but it made me think of other things I wish I could undo.
Power Outage
My first clue was the automatic garage door opener wouldn't work, and then as I walked to the front door I noticed the outdoor yard lights weren't on, and yet my neighbors had power. A voice inside of me began to say "caution" as I put my key in the door, only to discover it already unlocked. That inner voice began screaming "go back," and this time I listened. Fortunately, it turned out to be a tear in the main power line to our home; a fixable thing.

A dear friend shared a great story with me this week. The story was about an elderly man who remembered when he was a little boy during the Depression. The boy and his family were fairly isolated from the details of the bad news that flooded the country, but occasionally someone returning from a trip to the big city would stop by their farm for a quick visit. The boy and his father would then stop their work in the fields and come to stand by the fence and talk with the visitor, who proceeded to tell them how very bad everything really was. After listening for a while, the father would then turn to the boy and say, “All right, son, that’s enough bad news. It’s time to get back to work.”
Dance, Dance, Dance
My children are very musical. From very early in life, both enjoyed singing “their” song as I put them to bed. This habit led to numerous CD purchases and now as they grow older—musical instruments and toy microphones. However, what I didn’t expect is to see how quickly they began to dance.
