Power Outage
My first clue was the automatic garage door opener wouldn't work, and then as I walked to the front door I noticed the outdoor yard lights weren't on, and yet my neighbors had power. A voice inside of me began to say "caution" as I put my key in the door, only to discover it already unlocked. That inner voice began screaming "go back," and this time I listened. Fortunately, it turned out to be a tear in the main power line to our home; a fixable thing.
I was reminded that God is always directing our steps. Sometimes He chooses to give us clues in the circumstances that we encounter such as the things I noticed as I went to the front door. Other times He chooses to speak to us in small voices saying "caution," "listen carefully," "go," or "wait," and there are times He might need to shout to us.
Even though it didn't happen to me this time, there are times He might need to let us go through something with Him by our side. I praise Him that it didn't turn out that way, but I also praise Him that if it had, He would have been there. The universe is filled from top to bottom and side to side with the presence of God. Even the darkness has no reality for the God whose presence is light.
PRAYER: I praise You God that no matter where I go, no matter what I’m dealing with, and whatever circumstances I find myself in, You are there.
“Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence?” Psalm 139:7 KJV.
