Every year we seem to have the same thing happen; too much stuff, too little space.  It wasn’t so bad when we had six addresses in four years, we were always moving and evaluating and getting rid of whatever didn’t fit in a box, or in the truck we rented.  I was always amazed at the fact that no matter how long we lived somewhere there were at least six large garbage bags of stuff that was being thrown away.

A special Summer Day celebration with my family was in order and they trusted me with picking the restaurant. They should have known better, because with my luck anything can happen, and usually does.

New Beginnings

It’s hard to believe another year has come to a close. As usual, many of us are planning to start off this New Year by making another outstanding resolution or two. Many of us are eager to get started even though the holidays have left us feeling exhausted. Some of us are exhausted to the point that we don’t even feel like creating or keeping a resolution. If we’re honest with ourselves, keeping up with a resolution is difficult to do so you have to create a reasonable plan you can commit to.

Paramedic Angels

Years ago, during a rather rough physical time, our young son prayed for “Paramedic Angels” to be in and around our home. The next night he prayed for “angelic ambulances.” I like that idea. We pray for healing, comfort, and strength as we go through the trials of life, why not paramedic angels?

Relationship Resolution

Once, my professor came into class with a cup of coffee.  He told us that he had given up coffee many years ago and that we wouldn’t believe the number of times that he had said no to a cup.  That interaction gave me a completely new understanding of resolutions.  
It is a common thought that resolutions are to either get something into your life that is currently missing or get something out that shouldn’t be there in the first place.  This philosophy taught me that it’s not about the resolution, but the relationship.
