When you are sick, this is exactly what God may prescribe: “Take 2 tablespoons of laughter and call Me in the morning”.
In Proverbs 17:22 (NKJV), the Bible says, “A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.” God gave us the Bible as a manual for our lives, our future, and our bodies. When the Creator speaks about a merry heart, it is a heart that is stress free, worry free and filled with joy. The definition of “merry” is cheerful and lively. Being active and filled with laughter could describe a person with a merry heart.

Have you ever met someone who made a really lousy first impression? Have you ever been introduced and immediately you wrote them off and stereotyped them as common, ordinary, average—only to find out later that they were terribly gifted in some area?
Whistle While You…
I envy those who can whistle. I couldn't whistle a tune if my life depended on it. Nothing can lift one's spirit more than listening to someone whistle his or her way through the day. Whether it is a ballad or a joyous tune, the whistler's way eventually makes it into the heart of everyone who is listening. Many an old black-and-white movie depicts the spell a whistling beau can place upon an unsuspecting woman. So, too, can a whistling man or woman, diffuse an angry scene, and soon every one is humming along. I often wonder if God whistles? He may. Jesus probably whistled while He worked in His father's carpentry shop, or while He walked from town to town. We are instructed, even commanded to whistle through the psalms. Really!
How Do We Cope?

Songs and bumper stickers often misrepresent the Christian Life, and mislead believers into thinking they will be happy all the time. Happy is merely a feeling associated with circumstances. It is difficult for any human being to experience happiness 24/7 when God also created other emotions. Even Jesus wept.
Simple Service

For over 20 years, I’ve had a poem hanging in my kitchen. It’s printed on a thin sheet of some kind of metal, and mounted on a plastic, wood-looking round plaque. It’s not very pretty, and the author’s name has long since been rubbed away. I’ve tried to find the poem elsewhere, but I’ve never been able to find it again. So I will quote it here for you:
