Where is God?

A couple had two little boys, ages eight and ten, who were excessively mischievous. The two were always getting into trouble and their parents could be confident that if any mischief occurred in their town, their two young sons were involved in some capacity. The parents were at their wit's end as to what to do about their sons' behavior.

The parents had heard that a Pastor in town had been successful in helping problem children in the past, so they contacted him, and he agreed to give it his best shot. He asked to see the boys individually, so the eight-year-old was sent to meet with him first. The Pastor, believing that the boy’s problem was more spiritual than anything else, sat the boy down and asked him sternly, "Where is God?"

The boy made no response, so the Pastor repeated the question in an even sterner tone, "Where is God?"

Again the boy made no attempt to answer, so the Pastor raised his voice even more and said, "WHERE IS GOD?"

At that, the boy bolted from the room, ran directly home, and slammed himself in his closet. His older brother followed him into the closet and said, "What happened?"

The younger brother replied, "We are in BIG trouble this time. God is missing and they think we got Him!"

Does it feel like God is missing in your life? It could be that your not looking in the right place. Jesus taught his disciples, and us, that if we want to have access to the great God of all creation, there is only one way to get to Him. “Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6).”

In our world, so many want to believe that all roads lead to God. In a sense they do. Regardless of which road you take, everyone will eventually stand before God. The problem is that the road you take will determine HOW you stand before God. Without Jesus, you will stand before God with Him being the Supreme Judge and Ruler that will judge you for every sin you ever committed.

BUT, with Jesus, you will stand before the almighty God with Him as your loving Heavenly Father, full of grace and mercy and forgiveness. With Jesus, you don’t have to wait until the end to have God. You can have Him today and He will be with you where ever you go. Place your life in the hands of Jesus and enter in to that relationship with God that you have always wanted!

Verse of the week:

“In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2
