A strange odor emanated from inside our refrigerator. I knew it was bad when even our teenage son was disgusted. Rolling up my sleeves, I held my breath, then wrestled strange mutations from the vegetable drawer and deposited them in the trash. Bins were wiped and shelves cleaned until they glistened. Taking a step back, I drew in a deep breath of fresh air.
Pushing It Too Far

A duck walks into a restaurant and says, "Got any duck food?" The waiter looks down and says, "No. This is a restaurant. We don’t have any duck food." The duck walks out.
The next day the same duck walks into the restaurant. He asks, "Got any duck food?" The waiter looks down and says, "Hey buddy, are you nuts? I told you yesterday this is a restaurant, we serve people food. We do not have any duck food. Now scram!" The duck leaves.

Do The Right Thing

Recently I saw on TV that Governor Mike Huckabee has written a new book titled “Do The Right Thing”. I haven’t read it yet but I sure like the title. As best I can tell it pretty much says it all.
“Do the right thing” has always been part of my own personal philosophy. Even as a young girl my father always told me to “do the right thing”. That was when he was still alive, and I was lucky to have him help guide and mentor me in exactly what the right thing was. Whenever I got confused I could go and ask, and trust that he knew best.

The thought of spending a Saturday morning at the beauty salon just isn’t my idea of pure excitement. However, this particular day my hair was in desperate need of some personal attention. As typical, the place was swamped mainly of elderly ladies getting their new doo for Sunday morning church. Since my hairstylist has the gift of multitasking, I waited in the chair while she helped another client. With rollers tightly fitted to my head, I managed to finally seat myself in a relaxed position.
