Slow Driver

Sitting on the side of the highway waiting to catch speeding drivers, a State Police Officer sees a car puttering along at 22 MPH. He thinks to himself, "This driver is just as dangerous as a speeder!" So he turns on his lights and pulls the driver over.
Approaching the car, he notices that there are five old ladies — two in the front seat and three in the back – eyes wide and shaking like they’ve seen a ghost.
The driver, obviously confused, says to him, "Officer, I don't understand, I was doing exactly the speed limit! What seems to be the problem?"
"Ma'am," the Officer replies, "You weren't speeding, but you should know that driving slower than the speed limit can also be a danger to other drivers."
"Slower than the speed limit?" she asked. “No sir, I was doing the speed limit exactly… Twenty-Two miles an hour," the old woman says a bit proudly.
The State Police Officer, trying to contain a chuckle explains to her that "22" was the Highway number, not the speed limit. A bit embarrassed, the woman grinned and thanked the officer for pointing out her error.
"But before I let you go, Ma'am, I have to ask,” says the Officer. “Is everyone in this car ok? These women seem awfully shaken and they haven't muttered a single peep this whole time."
"Oh, they'll be alright in a minute Officer. We just got off Highway 158."
This little lady was obviously a bit confused. Have you ever been confused about what God wanted you to do? Do you know that God’s Word gives us instruction on how to figure out God’s will in a confusing situation? Notice this, “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33).
Isn’t that interesting? So often we think the opposite of confusion is having the answers. However, according to this verse the opposite of confusion can be having a peace about a situation. Often times, God will lead you in a direction that you may not have all of the answers laid out before you, but He will still give you a peace about what you need to do. Remember, when you follow God, He doesn’t always tell you all the information you want, but if it’s His will for you, He will give you a peace about following Him.
So, the next time you are confused about what to do. Pray and tell God, “Lord, I realize that you may not want to reveal everything to me that I would like to know right now, but I ask you to give me a peace about what you want me to do.” Wait for His peace about your situation. Then step on out on faith and enjoy the journey!
