Pushing It Too Far
By Ronnie Wyatt
A duck walks into a restaurant and says, "Got any duck food?" The waiter looks down and says, "No. This is a restaurant. We don’t have any duck food." The duck walks out.
The next day the same duck walks into the restaurant. He asks, "Got any duck food?" The waiter looks down and says, "Hey buddy, are you nuts? I told you yesterday this is a restaurant, we serve people food. We do not have any duck food. Now scram!" The duck leaves.
The next day The same duck walks into the same restaurant. The duck walks up to the waiter and asks, "Got any duck food?" The waiter gets angry. He looks down at the duck and yells, "I told you yesterday and the day before. This is a restaurant, we have no duck food. If you come back and ask me again, I’ll crazy glue your little duck feet to the floor!" The duck walks out.
The next day. Same duck. Same restaurant. The duck walks up to the waiter. Looks up and asks, "Got any crazy glue?" The waiter screams, "NO!" The duck says, "Good. Got any duck food?"
Sometimes we can push it just too far can’t we? Many of you are reading this right now and with all of your heart you long to have an intimate, personal relationship with God. You have heard how He can give you joy, peace, and strength to face all of life’s problems, but you feel like you may have pushed Him too far in the past. You may look back at your life and see many mistakes, failures, and sins and think, “There is no way that God could love someone like me. Not after all I have done.”
I have some wonderful news for you! God’s word says, “where sin abounded, grace abounded much more” (Romans 5:20). God has more grace than you have sins! He has more forgiveness than you have failures! He has more love for you than you could ever imagine! God wants you to come to Him today and bring Him your broken life so that He can cleanse you, forgive you, and give you a chance to start life all over again!
Meditate on this wonderful promise from God found in 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ.” If you accept Jesus Christ by Faith as your Lord and Savior and accept His death on the cross as payment for your sins, you will have every failure forgiven! You will be welcomed into that wonderful relationship with God that you have always wanted! Now, that my friend, is better than Duck Food any day!
