Stay Strong

When faced with a trial it is very easy to become discouraged. When God puts a trial in your life, you should be happy. Yes, happy. God placed the trial in your life at a certain time for a reason. He wants you to grow and learn from it. His whole purpose is to make you stronger and closer to Him. In James chapter one it says that after you have proven your faith, He will reward you.

Over this past summer, God placed an obstacle in my life. I have had some problems with my thyroid over the past few years. I had to have surgery at the end of June. As the date for my surgery grew closer, I became more and more nervous.  Suddenly, I remembered a song that we sang in church. The song was based on Isaiah 40:28-31. “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

It doesn’t matter what you face. If God brought you to it, He will bring you through it. Sometimes when life knocks you on your knees, you are in the perfect position to pray. God never grows tired or ever backs down. Isaiah 40:28-31 comforted me so much before my surgery. God calmed my nerves and gave me a quick, speedy recovery. Even though I was not sure what the out come would be after my surgery, I knew that I was never alone. And that very thought drew me closer to Him. Remember, whatever trial is in your life, God is walking right along side of you, holding your hand along the way.
