Dear God

Dear God,

Father, thank you for the abundant grace and mercy you show to me when I fall down. I have done a lot of falling down in my life. And at the same time, you have been there to reach down, pick me up and dust me off. I can tell that your love is sufficient. It is sufficient enough to heal the deepest wounds, cuts and scrapes that this world has to offer.  Thank you for being the Great Physician.

God, there are days when the mountain top cannot contain the experiences of life. During these times, I try to reach toward Heaven in order to give you a hug. It might not seem like much, but it is all that I have. There are times when I try to sing heavenly praises in order to tickle your ears and bring a smile to your lips. It might not seem like much, but it is all that I have. There are times when I want to share my mountain top experiences with you. It might not seem like much, but it is all that I have. Thank you for being the Great Adventurer.

God, there are days when the valley is cold and lonely. Darkness hovers about in order to make me fall, but whatever happens, you are by my side. There are times when my joy is stolen from me and I feel disheartened. But however I feel, you are by my side. When solitude is my friend and discouragement is my bondage, I feel faint. But whatever my situation is, you are always by my side. When I am battered and worn and feeling abandoned, thank you for being the Great Comforter.

Father, you have placed many people in my life who have helped shape it. My parents gave me life, but you fulfilled my life. My friends speak encouragement and strength into my life, and you breathe power on these properties and bring forth success. I surrender to the only one without sin, and you bring forth a robe of righteousness and place it upon my shoulders.  Thank you for being the Great Potter.

Father, thank you for all your great qualities as God and Savior.   From healing my injuries as the Great Physician to climbing with me to the highest mountain tops in life as the Great Adventurer, from traveling with me to the lowest valleys life can offer as the Great Comforter, to the molding and shaping of my life as the Great Potter – you, God, are awesome. If I had only one last breath left in me, I would want to say, “I love you.”

Bond Servant of the Lord Jesus Christ,

John T. McNeal
