Love Is In The Air

It seems love is in the air every time we turn on the radio, watch TV, or sneak out to the movies. Even books will keep you up for hours teaching the rules about how to love. Yet, people often ask, “What is love?” Hollywood portrays love as a quick fix for great pleasure.  For centuries mankind has been searching for the root of this secret word called love.

Of course we long for human touch since it is innate in us to feel needed and cared for. Unfortunately, some people only produce love for themselves without striving to share it while others are not willing to sacrifice situations for another. When this happens, the ambiance of love becomes cheapened with melancholy.

Nevertheless, we still yearn for it; however, we can’t find it in a box, nor can we find it at the store. So what’s the cure for seeking the love potion? Well, here’s the remedy. We can search all we want but as long as we leave Christ out of the picture, love will have no meaning. Looking for love without Christ is like looking for a contact lens in a swimming pool. Good Luck!

So, while people are still trying to define the meaning of the word love, the best definition can be found in the Bible. If you open your Bible to, 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7, you will find your answer. The love chapter goes like this, “Love is patience and kind, it is not jealous or boastful, it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way…” Christ shared his love by sacrificing himself just for you! He promotes genuine love, not cheap love, for His love is everlasting.  If you believe in Christ and start emulating His way, love will prevail not only in your Spiritual life, but also in your daily life.

Starting today, make that commitment to fill the air with Christian love. Walk in His light and you will experience hope, peace and love. Seek Christ through prayer and ask him to show you the true, genuine love he wants to share.
