What Is Your Purpose?

What are you doing day by day? What is it that drives you? What influences your thoughts and desires? It is man or God? There are so many things that need to be done in this world. Which ones have you chosen to do? Are you a writer, dancer, programmer? Or maybe a cop, soldier or nurse. Why did you choose the profession that you are doing? Was it for money or something more? |
God created you for a greater purpose than can be realized. There is a reason that you enjoy what drives you, but do you think it is only for you alone? Deep inside all of us is the desire to become someone, so who are you? What it is that you have inside of you that fulfills you? Do you like movies, going outdoors, science, music, reading, games, etc? If you could be whatever you wanted to be, what would you choose? Now, ask yourself if you have achieved your goals. If not, what is stopping you?
For every dream, there is a pursuit and goal to reach. Jesus said that His people perish for lack of knowledge. Does this sound like a God who desires for His people to know Him and do nothing? I have not read or heard of anyone who accomplished anything who did not have to work for it. Yes, some people have been blessed with money, but is that what it really means to “accomplish” anything? Solomon was king, but he did not find it satisfying. Look at the book of Ecclesiastes. He was searching for something, and Solomon had everything including wisdom. Stories are written for a reason, because the author has something to say. I remember the movie “Never-ending story,” which is one of my favorites. The warrior has to look inside a mirror and he would see his true self. When you look at yourself, what do you see? Do you see Jesus or yourself? If Jesus walked by you, would you run to Him or try to go the other way? What would be more pleasing to Jesus, someone that could quote the scriptures or someone that was living them? Everyday is a struggle and there is a battle. That is why we have the Bible; to teach us how to live every day and see that we can do all things through Jesus who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13). So once again, why are you doing what you are doing? What is the purpose behind it? If this was your last moment, what would you do with it? Life moves fast and it is short. Too short to be concerned about planning too far ahead. We have to live in the moment and take nothing for granted. If there is someone that you love, do not let fear get in the way and if God directs you, go for it! If you want to go somewhere or become a missionary, do not let man stop you. Jesus loves us and He has equipped us with the Holy Spirit to give us strength and guidance. He will never leave or forsake us. So don’t leave Him. Don’t forget the dream that God has placed in you. It does not matter how old or young you are either. Remember David or Moses. He is able to use anyone for His glory. I used to think that it meant that something would not get accomplished if I did not do what He directed me. Now, I know different. God will get His work completed whether or not you are involved in it. The opportunity will not linger forever because there is so much to be done and Jesus is the master of finishing His work. Will you become what God has called you to be? Do not stop believing in the dream that you have. The moment you feel weakest and the most discouraged is the turning point of your life. Seize the dream or leave it. Remember, David “chose” to fight Goliath, Moses “chose” to listen to God as a burning bush, Esther “chose” to trust God. Jesus “chose” to be obedient and go to the cross. And, Adam “chose” to eat the forbidden fruit. We have freedom of choice. We can either choose God’s path or go elsewhere. Love cannot be driven by force, only by choice. Go after what you desire. Do not let anything stop you. If God is for you, who can be against you! It is my prayer that this message inspires and encourages you! Be Blessed and Prosper! |
