Being Noticed

I’ve been traveling for several weeks, so when someone at church said to me, “I’ve missed you, where have you been?” it felt good. It felt good to be noticed. I wonder how many people come to church each week wondering if anyone noticed them? Is that why they stop coming, because no one noticed them? Every person is not only noticed by God but also loved deeply by Him. You are loved by Him and noticed by Him. He knows when you are missing-in-action, when you are hiding because of shame, or like me, just away and coming back.

On my way home from church, I wondered if God ever feels this way? Does He get excited when someone notices His presence? When I found today’s verse, I discovered He does. The anonymous psalmist calls us to acknowledge God’s provision, protection, and promises in our lives. When we do this we are inviting God’s favor into our day. Have you stopped today to acknowledge God? He is there, waiting for you. He longs to be noticed by you.

PRAYER:  Dear God, I stand in awe today of Your provision, protection, and the promises You keep. Forgive me for taking Your presence for granted, and help me notice You more throughout this day and every day.

“Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him My salvation,” Psalm 91:14-16 KJV.

One Response to “Being Noticed”
  1. YES! We all have a need to be noticed. For someone to see us, validate us, even celebrate us. Too often we may have felt ignored as children, and need more as an adult to satisfy that deficit. The God of mercy satisfies! HE is the one who took notice of us at the cross, but He also takes notice of us everyday in unique, special ways. I hope you’ll take NOTICE!
