The Best of Faith, Fiction, Fun, and Fanciful is a collection of short stories, poetry, prose and devotionals. There is something in this book for everyone! Whether you like fiction, poetry or a good look at the meaning of scriptures, you can find it in this book. Author Lynn Squire's passion for writing comes through each selection.
The book is divided into three sections. The first section, “The Human Condition” includes some great short stories, such as “Prodigal Farmer's Daughter” and “Brother's Keeper,” that bring Biblical truths to modern day scenarios.
The second section, entitled “Our Journey,” continues bringing truths through fiction but also includes brief writings of poetry and humorous things children say that help one escape from stresses of our everyday life. There is even an entry that gives advice for other writers for their journey of bringing creativity to written words.
The book concludes with a section called “Where Freedom's Found.” This section is chocked full of great insight to scriptures, and practical helps to apply these truths to our everyday life. Titles to look enjoy include, “From Stumbling Stone to Freedom,” The Woman with the Lamborghini,” “Encountering Stress, Encountering God.” It also includes wisdom on developing an intimate relationship with our Creator through prayer and Bible study.
The Best of Faith, Fiction, Fun, and Fanciful is one of those books that is great to have on hand for those times we find ourselves waiting and need something good to read. The short stories are great for that time in the doctor's waiting room or in the car line waiting to pick up a child at school. It makes a great book for the bathroom! Enjoy the escape from the stresses of life as you read excerpts from this collection of fine writing!
