Cheri is a small town girl unwillingly transplanted to the big city. When school starts she becomes the personal project of the leader of the ‘in’ crowd. The goal is for Cheri to lose her virginity so she can fit into this new group. Cheri finds herself conflicted. Premarital sex goes against her Christian upbringing. She must make a choice between taking a Chastity Pledge at her church or following the popular kids.
Love Waits is a tale of teenage peer pressure. Teens will find this material relevant and cutting edge. They will have no problem injecting themselves into the characters and their lives. Seeing the characters make the right choices in line with their Christian values will be an encouragement.
I would recommend this book for upper middle school and high school students. The situations involved, although not graphic, could be troublesome for some younger teens.
