"Space, the final frontier", starts out the memorable TV series Star Trek. I'm convinced that is a correct statement–if being applied to the space between our ears. Our brains are unbelievably powerful and complex computer-like machines. And one of the most amazing things about our ability to think is our capacity to analyze the perceptions that strike us and the opinions generated by those insights into the way the world works. In my many years of pondering the universe, I've come to the conclusion that truth is like an onion. Just when I think I've peeled away the last layer, I discover another one. My recent foray into the world of writing and publishing has caused me to do some more peeling. This layer I've exposed contains some very hard to swallow moral fiber. As I broach this topic, I feel like perhaps Einstein did when he revealed his theory of relativity. Some people got it, but most shook their heads. What I'm about to write will not be extremely popular and may alienate you. Do I care? Yes, but not enough to preclude doing what I feel led (hopefully by God) to say.

Kristyn Leigh’s sophomore record ‘The Heavy and Holy’ is an amazing composition of youthful music and classic church hymnals, sure to be a delight to listeners of any age range. Kristyn’s love for singing the old church hymns and passion for rock n roll led her to combine the two with her sultry voice. Kristyn grew up singing hymns in her church and it was no doubt that she could sing Christian contemporary music. But, when she started high school, a new possibility opened up for her. She loved to sing praise to the Lord, but she also had the heart to reach her peers in her generation. Being able to connect with people on relevant issues within her lyrics, Kristyn was able to combine the atmosphere of being in a church with being in a rock band.

Book Written by Sharon Hinck
Review from Christian Review of Books
The Restorer is Sharon Hinck’s first foray into straight fantasy and it is a wonderful read. First off, you need to know that I am NOT a fantasy reader. I couldn’t read JRR Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings or Hobbit until after I saw The Fellowship of the Ring. I simply couldn’t picture the worlds he created. Finally, my love for my husband and my sincere enjoyment of the movie pushed me to pick up those books. I enjoyed them, but I doubt I will read them again until my kids are old enough to enjoy them.

Where do we go from here, from a Christian music standpoint? The word “hope” implies confidently that the next generation will continue to follow the path that their pioneering generation blazed. Christian music from the past to now must leave an imprint on the next generation of singers and musicians. A firm foundation is encapsulated in the sound of the band: “Escaping The Crowd.” Ministry, family and strong ties to their local church, define these young people whose ages range from ages 15-19.
