CD/Song Compilation – This Side of Heaven Genre: Rock/Pop By Julie Cook Hess |
What do you get when you put Steve Ray Vaughan, Third Day, and Bonnie Rait in a blender? Well, you get blues Los Angeles duo Sunday Shoes made up of singers Danny Van and Daniel Epp. The two started out when the pair met each other about ten years ago at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Paramount, Ca. when the pastor sought them out to perform original music for the Sunday church service. “He would call us on Wednesday morning with an assignment to write a song to match the sermon for the coming Sunday. We found we worked well together and thrived under the intensity of writing, arranging, rehearsing and performing a new song in less than 72 hours,” Epp recalls. After awhile, they decided to formally name themselves and become an official band. |

CD/Song Compilation – The 2006 Sessions Genre: Acoustic/Blues By Brad McBrayer |
At the first note from the gritty vocals of Nathaniel Edward you know there’s something different about this artist. Logic tells you that his gravelly voice will soon belt out some alternative rock classic, but instead of Edward getting his grunge on, he glides softly into songs of praise and reverence toward God. |
