Is it wrong to say that I love this band called Ohio Avenue? These boys from Alabama can rock!
They sing about real life and use that to infuse their songs with their love of Christ.  I could easily see them playing next to Kutless, Switchfoot or even Nickleback.  These guys have so much talent and passion that calling them a rock band seems so cliché. Their talent as musicians is only matched by their passion for Christ.  The music world is standing up and noticing Ohio Avenue.  They are getting a lot of attention and we are going to see great things from this band.

Their songs speak for themselves. No matter where I am or what I am doing, I love to hear this band’s driving base lines and raw emotion in ‘Never Be You.’ This song makes me stop and listen, with lyrics like “when I kiss your face and stab your back” and “you’re in a boat by yourself but you’re not crying for help” makes me wonder why these guys aren’t playing to sold out crowds. The song ‘Losing Everything’ is haunting when it states, “This air is growing thin, I'm searching for a home again, we find just what we need, when we lose everything.”

Ohio Avenue is one of those rare bands where you feel every bit of emotion that they put into a song.  The passion in ‘Close To Me’ I felt in my heart. This song is about breaking up, lost love, and about God’s response to a broken a heart.  Our teenagers today need to know that they can turn to God in every situation and they will see that through the message and music of Ohio Avenue.

They don’t need to put out a couple of CD’s to find their sound.  They play together like seasoned professionals.  This band is solid for a group that has been playing together since 2005. I think what separates this group from all the other rock bands is there total commitment to their music as a ministry.  They freely admit that they are struggling, that they are less than perfect, and because of this openness they can connect with a large audience that crosses genres and age groups.

These guys are currently on the road playing for churches, youth groups and anywhere they can.  If you want to bless your church or youth group with the message of Christ coming from a high energy band with awesome lyrics then, you need to book Ohio Avenue.  They have it all; strong vocals, great music, awesome lyrics and a sold out passion for God.
