Artist Spotlight: The Turning

The Turning is a clever name for an even more brilliant band.  The Turning is a Christian band that got its start by playing worship services in local churches in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  The band started out as three members who wanted to reach out to the world and play the glory of God’s name.  Since then, they have found their front man, Jacob McGinnis and have begun the process of making a name for themselves.

The Turning’s music is a creative compilation of soft rock, alternative rock, and pop.  The message is not hidden.  Just by viewing some of their song titles alone, you would see a greater meaning.  “Out Of My Hands,” “Heart Is Free,” and “Lift You Down” are just a few songs from their album, “Learning to Lose”.  The album is clearly the result of hard-work, dedication and a purpose from God.  As you listen, it is very easy to connect to the messages of the songs.  I don’t know one Christian that would not be able to relate to a song titled, “My Heart Is Free”.  After listening, I feel motivated to start worshiping the Lord.
 
All in all, I was very impressed with the intelligent music of The Turning.  The music is a great representation of rock knowledge, and a calling from God.  I would strongly recommend and share “Learning to Lose” to anyone.
