Stephen Baldwin Left Jungle With Ministry Memories
New York, NY – June 24, 2009 – Actor/author Stephen Baldwin recently was one of the celebrities on NBC’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and after leaving the jungle in Costa Rica he not only had to get back to health, but also has spent time reflecting on the ministry opportunities that he was apart of. One of those moments was when he water baptized The Hills star Spencer Pratt as well as a moment of speaking God’s love to supermodel Janice Dickinson.
Many have asked as to why exactly Baldwin had to leave the jungle and he answered that by stating, “Not everything you see on the show truly demonstrates the reality of the experience that you are having.” With that in mind, Baldwin chose to remove himself from the competition due to the fact that after he had received over 125 insect bites in his first 8 days in the jungle including two severe bullet ant bites. All of this culminated into an extreme allergic reaction which at one point almost sent Baldwin into anaphylactic shock. With his condition getting to a point where the medical team onsite then stepped in to bring it under control, Baldwin made the decision to continue for 11 more days. Progressively between his allergic reactions, the heavy doses of allergy medications, lack of sleep and a weight loss of 22 pounds in 18 days, it was the compounding of all of these elements that lead Baldwin to the realization that if he couldn't finish and be at his very best, that it was probably best to step away and get himself back to good health.
Baldwin believes that his efforts in support of his charity LOVE 146 have already been positive and fruitful. He will continue to work hard in his support for LOVE 146 in the future. He hopes that not only LOVE 146 but all of those that were rooting for him will understand his decision.
He would also like to thank everyone from the bottom of his heart who supported him, voted for him, and sent their love and prayers.
Baldwin currently remains in Costa Rica resting and preparing for his next feature film project which will begin principle photography on July 5th in Sacramento, CA. He will star opposite Eric Roberts in the political drama POWER and PRIDE. He will be returning to New York this weekend and will be doing press on Monday, June 29th in regards to his time in the jungle.
