Carried Away Will Release Sophomore CD August 28th
First radio single 'Mystery' shipped to radio June 1st

(NASHVILLE, TENN.) — Carried Away's debut album Closer To You (Word Distribution) was Canada's best selling debut for 2005, and earned the group two 2005 Covenant Awards (Canadian Gospel Music Association) for Song of the Year ("I know”) and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year.

Since the release of their critically acclaimed disc, the trio has been on a whirlwind journey both professionally and personally. The Ontario-bred group comprised of sisters Colleen and Pam Walker, plus their cousin Christine Prankard, have spent the past few years touring full-time, including the Shoutfest Tour, Women of Faith and Pure Fashion events, solo headlining dates and opening slots for artists like Point of Grace, Casting Crowns and Avalon.

Now in their 20's and with a few years of experience under their belts, the girls of Carried Away have come of age with their music and ministry, reaching out to hundreds of thousands of people throughout North America. With their sophomore CD I Want You set for release on August 28th through CMC Distribution (Canada) and a new partnership with Infinity Music Distribution (USA), the trio is demonstrating significant artistic and spiritual growth, while simultaneously possessing an even more direct set of goals for the new album.

“We’ve basically used our experience up to this point to encourage young people and really let them know how your life can change for the better with God in the center of it,” explains Pam of the continually evolving songwriting process. “We came up with the album title of I Want You to go along with the theme of the first album, which basically encourages listeners to get an idea of what they want from this life. What are you putting into your life, and most importantly, do you want God in your life? It’s a huge decision, but getting to know Him is our ultimate message.”

"So many young people want to be loved and accepted all the time and they’ll do almost anything to feel that way," adds Christine. "But we want to remind them that God will love you no matter what the world says and no matter what you may have done. He’s there with open arms of forgiveness and can fill any of the holes in your life.”

The trio placed their convictions front and center throughout the entire songwriting process for I Want You. “Wasting My Words (Been Where You Are)” encourages listeners to avoid the trap of feeling that they're all alone and have to go through life by themselves. “Sweet One” touches on the topic of romance, but reminds everyone that God will never break a heart. The first radio single, “Mystery,” talks about waiting an entire lifetime to meet the Lord in heaven, but making it clear that we can all catch glimpses of Him in the here and now.

The new album merges numerous musical styles, including pop, acoustic rock and inspirational worship. “Smile,” about the joy of being alive, evokes popular praise leaders such as Aaron Shust and Chris Tomlin, while “Feel It Inside” and “Just Believe” take on the modern radio approach of Natasha Bedingfield or Michelle Branch. Yet the group points out that their influences range from the likes of Natalie Grant, Avril Lavigne, Coldplay and The Fray.

Though Carried Away has always had a large reach throughout North America, their recent partnership with Compassion International and a subsequent trip to see their work first-hand in Peru has stirred up even greater global goals.

“After we went to Peru, we wrote the song ‘Beautiful Girl,’ which basically talks about whenever you sponsor a child, it gives them hope to face another day," says Colleen. "It was such an eye opening experience. They were so poor but all so happy and content.”

The trio hopes to continue writing material that appeals to the masses with a message grounded in the Gospel, while traveling beyond their comfort zones. “Our heart and mission is to go out to all nations and teach people about Jesus,” adds Pam. “We’ll go wherever God wants us to go, and our goal is to go through every single door and be lights in darkness.”

I Want You will be released on Canadian label Glide Records on August 28th, with distribution in Canada through CMC Distribution, and in the USA through Nashville-based Infinity Music Distribution. A major marketing campaign includes Gospel Music Week and ICRS appearances, heavy touring, numerous television appearances including a recently taped episode of Live at Studio B, and a new EPK shot by Kingsbury Films. "Mystery," the album's first radio single, is going for adds in June.
