| Shannon Vick aka Eric Cross, whose first solo project "The Message" was awarded Milwaukee's Holy Hip-Hop Artist of the Year in 2006, met label A&R and producer Todd Collins at Flavor Fest in Tampa, Florida, in November 2006, and was signed to Beatmart Recordings in February 2007.
"Eric is the kind of artist that Beatmart wants to be in partnership with," says Todd. "First of all, his heart is 100 percent vertical in the love he has for God. Without that, we would never have had a second conversation. But in addition to his heart for ministry, Eric brings a certain sound that we've been looking for, his look is fantastic, he works extremely hard—he’s a seasoned live performer—and his hook ideas and song writing skills are very much above average." Todd is currently working on song ideas with Eric and is in the process of gathering track ideas for the album from various beat makers. Todd encourages any beat makers, who believe they deserve the opportunity to have their work on the upcoming Eric Cross record, to submit their beats to him for consideration.
