Growing Fur

Kids say the funniest things. The other day my four year old son Tucker proudly told me, “Mom, I’m starting to grow fur on my arms just like dad.” I laughed so hard I cried. He’s one funny boy. Isn’t it amazing how proud kids are when they see themselves becoming more like adults and less like babies? He’s excited about the little things: dressing himself, brushing his own hair and teeth, going potty “all by myself”. I’m proud too—and thankful. It’s made my life a little easier. Read more

I’ve been shopping recently. Roaming the aisles of all my favorite stores I realized that I might be crossing over into the you’re-too-old-for-that era of my life. True, I love many of the cute fashions that are in style today, but really at my age (not that old), with two kids, stretch marks and a few not so subtle pounds too many, I just don’t see how I could pull off some of those outfits.

Measuring Growth

Measuring growth is a big deal in our home. Since our daughter was born three months premature, we have always paid close attention to her growth patterns. Second-Guessing Motherhood

Bruce and I had been married nine years when we found out we were expecting our first child. Joyous tears streamed down our faces as we looked at the plus mark on our home pregnancy test. I had dreamed for years of cradling a sweet baby in my arms, gazing into the eyes of a precious innocent child, curling fingers around mine and sweet butterfly kisses. We were going to be parents!
