Be and Do

Christ was always busy doing the work of His Father. Whether he was performing miracles, learning from the priests in the temple, spending time in the Garden with the disciples, sharing a meal of remembrance or dying on the cross. He was busy…doing the will of God. In the world that we have made for ourselves, it’s difficult to imagine living such a singular purposed life (after all, there’s a mortgage, jobs, kids, pets, stuff, bills, schedules), yet as Christians it’s the singular purpose of JESUS that should keep us focused on finding a way through all that…to share Christ with others.
My actions, my attitudes, my words, my ethics, my heart can be totally purposed on doing what God’s purpose is for our lives. Jesus’ example shares the practical side of a singular purposed mind…doing things that benefit others, giving no regard for the poverty or their wealth, their handicap or their gifts, their age or their gender.
He was busy DOING and BEING everywhere He was. He should be my example. His history is written in His Word, so by reading it I can be more familiar with the habits of His being and doing.
Having a message of hope and refusing to share it is like having the cure to cancer and not giving it to someone who needs it. Keeping Jesus to myself doesn’t do anyone else any good. So today, I am going to look for ways to be busy building His kingdom because nothing else in this world matters.
PRAYER: Praise You Lord for the gift of Your Son who showed us the way to live here on earth. Help me to delve into Your Word to see His example. Guide me to walk the way He walked. Forgive me when I fail to see the opportunities You place before me. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
“Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you,” Matthew 6:33 KJV.
