How to Lose Weight in all the Right Places
“Weight Loss Tips” is the 42nd top keyword searched online today, and it stays in the top 500 most of the time. Why? Because almost everyone is concerned about their weight. Some worry about how they look and how their clothes fit. Others want to lose weight to improve health. Some lose weight to please others—some to please self. And sadly, most of us know more about HOW to lose weight than we actually DO lose weight.
While I’m on a self-improvement kick, I need to focus on losing a different kind of weight. Less self. I need to reduce the weight that hinders me from running the race that God has put in front of me. He wants me to let go of any fault that rebels against His will, and focus on the finish line. Even more challenging is that God wants me to be patient when I endure the obstacles that get in the way of me running the race.
Top 5 “Rs” for Weight Loss Tips to Spiritual Growth:
1. Remember your support system.
2. Remove any hindrance.
3. Repent of sin and watch for sin traps.
4. Run with patience—endure!
5. Remember the finish line—looking to Jesus.
PRAYER: Father, help me focus on what is really important and remove self and sin from weighing me down as I run the race you’ve placed before me.
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God,” Hebrews 12: 1-2 KJV.
